Annville Institute was established by the New York based Womens' Board of Domestic Missions of the Reformed Church of America (RCA). In 1900 RCA missionaries chose Mckee as the site for their first Kentucky mission project. Mckee Academy eventually became a county run high school, and the church established Annville Institute some miles further west.
